Saint Tammany Parish Hospital ER

Absolutely terrible and worst ER I’ve ever been to. I walked in with crippling pain (for reference I’ve never been in pain so bad that I’ve taken myself to the ER) immediately, while I’m hunched over hardly able to speak the admission desk was brutally rude and harsh with me. They finally take me back, mind you, im puking the whole time, the nurse, Travis was the only kind one in the place. Finally after meds and a CT scan they find multiple kidney stones. The doctor and the NP come in and literally just say “ya you have multiple kidney stones” no detail no directions no information no nothing. They just say we’ll send you home with meds and you’ll have to pass it. I go home cause I’m honestly in too much pain to think straight to ask any more questions, I look at MyChart and there’s multi

The wait is atrocious. I’ve been sitting here for 2 hours in the ER! Like how and why! Plus the staff are lowkey rude and sometime insensitive. I will be going to a different ER/Hospital next time! Since I’ve been here for the 2 hours, they only took 3 people back. I didn’t even get an IV and I came here for faintness and dizziness. Horrible hospital 1 star doesn’t even do it justice!

I came in this evening in a good deal of pain, both physical and emotional. I've been to a few ER rooms and I have to say this one was very nice. From intake to recovery, all the areas I went to were very clean and comforting. I was really surprised by how wonderful the staff was. Every single person whom I encountered were all incredibly nice, friendly people. I didn't get everyone's names, but Kirk, my intake RN, was such a nice man and was so patient through my tears. My ultrasound nurse, Miss Beth, was such an incredibly lovely person. The doctor I saw was a God send, and her assistant was so very sweet and caring. I know this ER doesn’t have the best reviews, however, during my visit, which was on Mardi Gras day, I was greeted by 2 individuals who had the best attitude and were very empathic to what I now know was a very silly reason to go to the ER. Anyway, I was immediately seen and 2 gentleman maybe slightly older than me were very consoling and gentle when having to take my blood (I’m anxious!). I was then put into my own room to lay down and every med tech/nurse that came into run tests, take more blood, come get me for X-rays, etc. and every single person I came in contact with was happy (or pretending at their best), they were empathic, patient, and professional. I took my cousin to the ER, told the guy behind the desk he was having chest pains and couldn't walk and the staff guy pointed me to the wheelchairs and said "you can get a wheel chair"........(All while my arms wrapped up and I'm holding it up from recent surgery). (The security guard just took it all in). A lady in the waiting room was going to help me go get him out of the car. WOW. Just WOW. I'm a retired nurse and still am shocked by this exchange. Disturbing seems inadequate to explain how I felt. Be warned.!!
