Safeway Pharmacy

I have always had friendly, prompt attention from my Safeway pharmacy in Kensington, MD. I would highly recommend them

I know a lot of pharmacies are have mediocre service and are likely understaffed, but this Safeway pharmacy tries so hard to be helpful and do the right thing for its customers. The staff are kind and helpful and patient with customers. They actually answer their phone all the time and help you know when things may be in stock or ready. Honestly it’s the best pharmacy I’ve found in the area. I really appreciate the hardworking associates here.

Of all in store pharmacies this one is the best I have used. I am impressed at how they put up with my sometimes grumpy head. Although some meds are not in stock at times I do think this place makes an effort to get and fill prescriptions.

I have been a customer at this pharmacy for over 10 years, and they have always been wonderful. In the last year there has been a turnover to an entirely new staff and pharmacists. Since then I have had nothing but issues. Medications that I have been having filled there for the last decade are suddenly not covered by my insurance. I get lied to as to the reasons and it always turns out to be an error in the way the staff is entering it into the computer. Meanwhile they have me jumping through hoops to telling me I need prior authorizations, that my doctor did not sill it out correctly, or that my insurance will not cover it anymore and I have to pay out of pocket. As others have stated, this pharmacy is frequently out of medications and will not tell you until you arrive to pick it up. They also don’t call to tell you if your prescription is ready. If I do call, I’m placed on hold anywhere from 10-30 minutes. The staff is rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful. I would highly recommend going to a smaller or family owned pharmacy instead.
