Safeway Pharmacy

Most inconvenient pharmacy ever. I will be switching. And that's not even because of long lines and slow service. One might think if the store is open the pharmacy would be, but one would be very wrong. Not only do they close for an hour every day in the middle of the afternoon for lunch, which always seems to be when I happen to arrive to pick up a prescription. Holidays (such as Labor Day) the store is open, but the pharmacy, nope. They have wasted my time and fuel for the last time going to pick up prescriptions only to discover that, even though the store is open, the pharmacy is not. I will be using another pharmacy going forward, and there are always better grocery stores than Safeway. Big disappointment.

Lines are long and nowhere to sit for people that have medical reason that standing is just about impossible. Hit and a miss on there being friendly. Same on the phone. I have been on hold at the most 30 minutes. They just rattle out can you hold with no way to speak as now you on hold. The insurance we have safeway was the absolutely the cheapize. We used to use greater placer pharmacy but with the insurance they were tge highest. So safeway it is.

The pharmacists and techs are always friendly and helpful but safeway refuses to staff them appropriately. Line is regularly over an hour and there is nowhere to sit. There isn't even a designated line area, so you have to stand in a merchandise aisle and get shoved out of the way by employees and customers while you wait. That "line" isn't even labeled so other "lines"regularly start in the nearby aisles and I have to explain I've been waiting an hour already because safeway won't designate or label and actual line, or staff properly.

Best service and waiting times in Auburn, however corprate has cut their budget which shows up as more waiting times. Safeway in Auburn can't keep competitive pricing unless they push their emplyee's to the MAX or worse. The only reason I shop at Safeway Bell Rd at all is because of the 10 years excellent service from the Pharmacy. They work their tails off and they still have great service but not as good as it used to be thanks to cut-backs. Treating your employee's poorly is one thing, providing LESS service for your customers is another. I suppose as long as they don't get rid of Andee or Linda I'll continue to be a loyal customer(Pharmacy)

Meh. Friendliness is hit or miss. They have to order meds and don't seem to have much in stock. Miscommunication between pharmacy tech and doctor a lot. Call and get "thank you for calling Safeway pharmacy can you please hold? Thanks." puts me on hold without a chance to speak. Sits on hold for a long time. I've had to return multiple times and wait multiple days because of their sub par service.
