Learning you have cancer is depressing.But feeling that your surgeon is one of best in the world is very encouraging. Dr. Uzzo is not only a brilliant surgeon but also a great communicator. He simplified the explanation of my condition and the procedure so there was no confusion. My surgery went wonderfully and only a small portion of my kidney was removed. I experienced only minor pain and the small wounds from surgery have healed beautifully. Dr. Uzzo visited me twice (post surgery) in my 1 1/2 day post-op hospital stay. How many doctors do that? I have been battling kidney cancer for 10 years. This last year a tumor was found by my hospital that they weren't willing to do the complicated surgery to remove it. I live 4 hours from Philly but heard about Dr. Uzzo who is world-renowned and good at what he does. That is an understatement. Dr. Uzzo saved my life. The reception desk and staff are very helpful and friendly. The attending nurse is very professional, knowledgeable, and was truly interested in my case and in helping me with resources and extra tools to learn more about my cancer. Dr. Uzzo is one of the BEST doctors I have ever met. He took time to clearly explain things and educate me in exactly what is going on with my kidney tumor. Dr. Uzzo is truly one of a kind. He took the time to explained detailed information about my diagnosis. Dr. Uzzo is compassionate and shows that he really cares.
