Had an outpatient surgery here recently. From my pre-op appointment, to the nurse who got me ready for surgery, to the PACU nurses, everyone was so phenomenal. I have never met such a group of healthcare professionals who seemed so happy, caring, and loved their jobs. My pre- op I met with a nurse practitioner who went over all my lab work and she was so nice and kind and was helping any last minute jitters. The day of my surgery the lovely nurse who got me ready was so so amazing and caring. She made sure I knew everything that was happening every step of the way and made sure I was comfortable and at ease. PACU was amazing as well. When I come out of anesthesia I get very emotional and will flip into panic attacks fast. The nurse immediately comforted me and I have never calmed down so f
First, know that this used to be a happening hospital and instead of leaving a large building abandoned, space is leased out (if that is the best way to describe it). Someone there described the building as a medical mall. As far as the RHI staff - every person I interacted with was professional, courteous, and answered questions. I actually did not have to ask many questions because they were ahead of them by explaining things each step of the way. I went a couple days before for pre-op tests and they were very kind, took their time with me, and again, were not in a rush and explained everything. On the big day, the care was absolutely wonderful. This isn’t a place where there are tons of people running about like a busy hospital, those who are there are pretty much there for you or desig
What an astounding experience. Carrie , Harmony (aka Holly...LOL), Bob, Zach, the Nurse who came and got me from the waiting and the other Nurses & Techs there were very professional yet comforting in a genuine manner. It was my first surgery and only felt as if I was at some sort of resort. My Nurse Carrie, RN took very good care of me before & after and made this experience much less frightening than I thought it might have been. Riverview Health Institute should be proud of these professionals and I will for sure, recommend this facility to anyone I know who is going to have surgery and hopefully they too will experience what true healthcare should be!! Thank you all very much.
I would give this hospital a 0 star if I could. I have a love one that has been here for a week these people lie. All his family lives in another state. The first time we called we was told this is just a surgery center no inpatients. I called tonight and Anne told me they don't have phones in the rooms but she would go to his room and take the portable phone to him in his room so he can call me. When I didn't hear anything I called back and Anne told me they don't have him. I believe she is lying and stupid. How can she put someones hopes up that she has their love one there? How can she be so stupid and not know who her patients are? She should be fired.
I had my surgery there in October. The decor was better than the hospital but no 5 star care.. Bulletpoints: I was sedated/anesthetized without being informed. Some nurses were kind, they were good at making beds and refilling your ice water. You need to have family/friends there to help you use the bed pan. Take your medications from home with you, especially if you are on meds for chronic pain. My son picked me up to take me to the ER- I was in terrible pain and the ER kept me. So...I was infected with a life threatening bacteria at RHI. I was transferred to UC for emergency surgery. 6 week short term disability is going to be a 6 month disability and i am still on IV antibiotics
