Riverside Animal Hospital

I am so happy I found this Hospital. I had a very sick Dumpy tree frog and Dr. Rossi was kind, informative and understanding of even my budget walking into this appointment. I felt as if he had an answer for everything I asked and was personal to my need and my sweet dumpy. Highly recommend.

The staff seemed disorganized, the office itself felt dusty and unkempt, and the exam rooms were not as clean as they should be shelved in the office covered with a thick layer of dust.. I was left alone in a dark room without any clear direction about whether I should return to the front desk or continue waiting. After about 15 minutes with no communication, I went up front frustrated and decided to cancel all future appointments. While Dr. Rossi is knowledgeable, his demeanor came across as rude and gruff, with very little bedside manner. Overall, the staff could benefit from additional training, and the office would greatly improve with a thorough cleaning and better organization.

I hate to leave such a negative review, but I feel compelled to warn others, even after hearing back from Dr. Rossi. I brought my chameleon to Riverside Animal Hospital on 6/27 and was prescribed fluorouracil 5% cream — a human chemotherapy drug — which they called a “miracle cream.” Instead, it killed my pet overnight. I paid over $300 and left with no real explanation of what was wrong, no bloodwork, no biopsy, not even shed removal. Just a dangerous drug and vague instructions. I followed them exactly. The next morning, my chameleon had turned black and was dead. After doing my own research (since no one at the clinic explained anything), I learned fluorouracil is extremely toxic to small animals — even minor exposure can be fatal. Had I known, I would’ve never brought it into my home

We had a community cat experience a medical emergency after giving birth. Showed up at 5:40 on 1/30 with her stillborn kitten hanging out of her. This wasn’t considered an emergency and we were told “we close at six”. After saying we were taking her to ACPS the receptionist started asking us to fill out some paperwork, like we weren’t just told they aren’t going to help. ACPS was still open and saw her immediately. I get that we’re all human, probably a long day in the office…but it’s an animal’s life and wellbeing. I would have hoped veterinarian staff would show the same compassion in the last hour they do the rest of the day.

I chose this clinic for my rabbit; the service is exceptional, and Dr. Rosy is wonderfully good at his job. I took my rabbit there because she had mites, and he fixed everything. Today was her second appointment.
