Absolutely wonderful. Loved one been there over three years. Excellent food, attentive, professional, compassionate nursing staff that takes care of the needs of their resident's medical, emotional, psychological, social, religious and nutritional health. Business office very well run, ready to handle all issues regarding Medicare hiccups, everyday concerns and questions. No matter the issue they make it clear they are there to help you, that the family and the resident are equally important. Unlike many other facilities, River Brook gladly helps their residents eat at meal and snack time. When spills happen the resident is immediately bathed and put into fresh, clean clothes. My father was put into Hospice on Sept 3 and had to leave the cardiac unit at SGMC in Valdosta. The family wanted to get him closer to his home, which was Homerville. Riverbrook was highly recommended by his case manager. However, when we arrived (my dad via ambulance transport) at 9pm that night we were sadly disappointed in what we walked into. We were told there were no single rooms, but double. My father was put into a room with 3 beds. The man who occupied the middle bed, kept asking everyone for a cookie and had the one tv in the room turned all the way up watching Britney Spears. By this time it is after 10 pm. Keep in mind my dad is now on hospice care and only has a few days left. We were told my stepmom could stay with him, however there were no chairs in his corner of the room,

My sister was there for 4 years. Her care there was poor, negligence staff wise with her personal care & medical somewhat, not where it should be. I've done several complaints within facility and statewide on them as well. I finally got fed up with the nonchalant behaviors from administration in which they change admin team like a pair of underwear there. Very unstable with their DON, Social Services dept!! I lived over a hour away . I would come monthly if allowed and each time I visit , I would have a complaint. She has been moved to another facility closer to me so I can monitor her better. My sister in law was a patient there after being transformed from a hospital. She was placed in a bed without rails, while wearing a wrist band that aid “fall risk”. At night, there was not a nurse working the hallway she was on. Because of no bed rail to keep her in bed and no nurse working the hall, she attempted to take herself to bathroom and she fell. The male nurse coordinator told her daughter, upon check-in, if you can’t find your mom’s nurse, she’s probably outside smoking. He then pointed outside to a group of 5 nurses, smoking.

Poor Nursing Staff,Poor Admins, staff does not get back to you in timely manners they loose stuff that is the patients expensive stuff at that and you will get a hard time replacing them. They have roaches crawling on the floors.
