Best bodywork I’ve had in Portland. Miyae is such a gifted, multidisciplinary practitioner who specializes in accessing healing at the subconscious level through bodywork and breathwork. I found her practice on ClassPass and reached out with a very last minute request for a 60 mins Muscle Melt session. She was able to fit me in the same day. Upon arrival, she listened to my needs and customized the bodywork to address the tension and stress stored in my body. It was such a unique experience between her hand technique, the tools she incorporated and the varying degrees of pressure she applied. As a trauma psychotherapist and someone who’s suffered a lot of trauma, I’m very selective in who I’ll work with. Miyae is one of the few healers I feel truly safe with. Her bodywork, breath work, and coaching is intuitive, connected, and POWERFUL!! I appreciate her warm and direct approach — the right mix of science and spiritual wisdom. She connected some dots for me about my past that I hadn’t seen myself nor had my own therapist I had been working with for years (and my therapist is amazing). Miyae’s breathwork has freed me from some patterns I was stuck on for so long. I found Miyae through a web search for a Portland therapist working with breath. I had just read a book that got me curious about the mind-breath connection. My session with her was right after a particularly rough time and I was concerned that I would fall apart after we met. She was kind and reassured me I would be supported and feeling well at the end of it. It’s hard to tell you what to expect during the session but after, I can assure you the ground will be firm, the air will be light and fresh, and the colors will be soothing. I recently had my first massage with Miyae and it was unlike any massage I've had before. I came in with a lower back injury and some other issues. She was incredibly intuitive, warm, and knowledgable and found all of my pain points easily. I found a lot of relief after having been in pain for days, but I also left with helpful information about how to protect my body from future injuries during exercise.
