My daughters had never met this particular doctor and one of them was needing to be seen for a sensitive issue and this doctor made my children feel very safe and protected in every way. She was patient, through, communicative and kind. She had a wonderful bedside manner and disposition especially when speaking to my children about issues and did wonderful providing educational and productive feedback and treatment. I love all the doctors we have seen over the years, however, as this was a first encounter with this provider, I honestly felt she deserved to be recognized for her dedication to her care and profession. 10 stars if I could give it to her!

We have been going to Richmond Pediatrics in Mechanicsville for a few years. Both for newborn and toddlers so the annual and sick checkups have been so good. They always accommodate sick visits and keep them in separate areas. We see Dr. Anderson regularly but have seen other providers and they are all wonderful. Good bedside manner and the front desk is great too. That in itself is amazing because sometimes the front desk can be terrible. The nurse staff is also pleasant and listen to concerns.

My husband had Dr. David Gosselin as his primary doctor growing up. He left such a big impact on my husband growing up, so much so that he was DETERMINED to have Dr.Gosselin as our sons PCP! We’ve had the pleasure of meeting Dr.Anderson and Dr.Hawkins as well and have nothing but great things to say! All our questions were answered very well and we left feeling very satisfied. The ladies at the front desk are also the sweetest!

I chose not to move forward with Richmond Pediatrics after my experience trying to schedule a new patient appointment on 2/20/2026 around 9:11 AM after speaking with a rude female. My first call was disconnected after being answered while the representative was speaking to someone else. When I called back and was transferred to scheduling, I reached the same staff member. I was told that an appointment could not be scheduled until medical records were received, which I understand. However, when I asked what my options were if I had difficulty obtaining them, I was told, “Then you’re going to need to find somewhere else to take your child.” Policies are understandable. Dr Mitchell has an amazing bed side manner, relatable and real. Also super funny! I would highly reccomend her to anyone looks for a new pedatrician (she is not our primary as we are partial to ours) but if we need a sick visit or can’t see our regular we hope for her!
