Republic Drug Store

They offer a great selection of hair and body care, nutritional supplements, a unique gift selection, toys for your little one; cosmetics, phone cards, reading glasses, and much more. From the outside to the inside, the owners take pride in their business. Their friendly, caring, and efficient staff provides great customer service, and even the store displays are "eye catching". This is where I frequently shop, and if anyone needs their prescriptions filled or even gift-giving ideas I recommend this store. After moving to this little city of Republic, I soon discovered how quickly you're made to feel like your part of their family.

Awesome Staff, always very helpful and nice to everybody. Old town style" and very welcoming vibe, the kids love it. DO NEED TO UPGRADE PHONE SYSTEM. A 1989 RadioShack One Line phone with a busy signal (freal?! a Busy signal?!) Is not the best idea for a Pharmacy dealing with emergency's, doctors, and people's medicine.

Republic Drug Store, Slagles' Drug Store The Republic Drug store is one of the town's few two storey brick buildings. It has apparently changed little since it was built for J.W. Slagle in 1918. The most slgnificant change is the removal of the stair and railing which formerly led into a barbershop located in the front of the store's full basement. There is also a patch in the front of the store which probably indicates removal of a freight chute or elevator at some time. A large shop window has been replaced with a wooden panel due to occasional damage by automobiles missing the corner at the stop light. With these exceptions the building is probably much as it appeared in J.W. Slagle's day. It is made of an unusually tough brick from the old Clayton Brickyard, laid in common bond. This
