Regency Hospital - Macon

I want to first start off by saying every negative review stated is a,1,000% correct. I wish I could go lower than 1 star because that is exactly what this place deserves. My mom was a pt at this facility for about 1mth and half. Her time there was an emotional rollercoaster. The first thing she came to the hospital on heavy pain medications and was having trouble staying awake. At the same time they were trying to perform a swallow test to see if she can get off the ng tube. The speech therapists states that she has been sleepy, so I guess they deem that as a failed test.Next thing I know they send someone in trying to push a peg tube on my mom the reason being she has dsyphagia(inability to swallow) which was not correct she just was on to many pain meds that were making her sleepy. I was at Regency for 2 1/2 months and my time there was up and down. My biggest issue with Regency was my case manager, Emily. Emily was not present a lot nor did she provide great service or care to me as a patient. I feel like every time we spoke, which maybe was about five times throughout my entire stay she wasn't informative about the next steps. Which leads me to my rushed discharge. At the time I hadn't seen or spoken to Emily for at least a month and then on the day of my discharge, she comes and lets me know that I'm being discharged this evening, which was last Wednesday. There was no proper discharge education from the nursing staff wound care or Emily. There was no suggested home healthcare to provide education to my caregiver at home, and also there was no prescriptions writte

My cousin from Macon was just telling me about this place. Her daughter was in a horrible accident and the hospital tried to send her here. She refused because she said she never knew anyone who came out of this place after going in. Fast forward to this week, my grandfather was sent there, well and talking. His daughter went to see him earlier today and told them that he was gasping for air. They told her that he was doing fine earlier. Well, he passed away hours later!!!! Then they had the unmitigated gall to tell us that we need to make arrangements to get him to the morgue tonight (Saturday after Thanksgiving holiday) because they don't have anywhere to keep his body until the morning!

Don’t do it just don’t do it. Unless you are wanting to fail your loved one. One of the biggest regrets during the care for my father, since he has been released now I have had more then 4 people (professional field) say they have heard about Regency when I’m going over my dads history and I always add worse place ever don’t do it ever. Just save yourself anymore headache because the level of advocacy you will have to play is a disgrace!

This place is the worst. Do not send anyone here. I would give them a zero but you have to give at least a star to review. The whole experience for us,my husband was the patient, was a nightmare. They don't take care of the patients like they should. I have a long list of complaints about this place. I talked to supervisors , but the list continued to grow. It is about the money,not about the patient care. Please don't send your loved one here.
