Randy Ackerman

Dr. Ackerman told wrote in my After visit summary to stop my insulin to help decrease urination at night. I am a diabetic but I stopped it because hats what his orders said to do. My blood sugar ended up by going very high. I called my endocrinologist who told me to go back on the insulin immediately. I called the practice to verify the orders but no one returned my calls. When I addressed it with the doctor at the follow up, he said he never said that and maybe “the nurse made a mistake.” Thankfully I didn’t stay off of my insulin for too long but too long but that could have caused serious health problems if I had followed his orders per the chart. He is a good doctor but needs to be more careful with what is written in his patients charts.

Dr Ackerman had NO time or patience to explain the procedure for kidney stones. There was no empathy or desire for my husband to be well and was so quick, I feel a lack of trust in the upcoming procedure.When reaching out to ask a few questions, I did not get a call back. Sadly, due to my husbands situation, we don't have much choice, but I feel Dr. Ackerman's lack of patience and time could leave room for many mistakes.

NJ Urology has gotten tooooo big. You can’t get a phone call returned, refills on prescriptions, or correct bills. After waiting to see Dr. Ackerman, he spent very little time with me and really didn’t explain the procedure he wanted to do. When trying to schedule the procedure, I tried to reach the office for more than 2 weeks! I have called almost every day and still haven’t gotten a call back! I’m looking for a new practice!!!
