Publix Pharmacy at Barrett Parkway

Almost had me go to the emergency room due to their incompetence. I take a medication, that if abruptly stopped, can cause seizures. I knew the medication was on back order so I called around to pharmacies to check stock. I was told they had my prescription and the quantity available. So I had my doctor call the prescription in there. Only to get a call at 5:30 saying they didn’t have the medication. I don’t even think she checked. I didn’t sleep and missed work that weekend. And then they refused to transfer it to another pharmacy. I told the pharmacist who called me to tell me they were out, and I told him that I had confirmed availability that same day. He said, “oh, she probably just looked at the wrong thing.” Not even an apology.

Rude staff, always treats me as if I am suspicious or something when I pick my prescription up. It’s Hydroxyzine, not even a controlled substance. Once I asked my roommate to go pick up a prescription for someone else that is not controlled. Then I went into pick it up and the pharmacist refused to fill it because he said it seemed “suspicious” even though I had my ID and all of the information needed. I just called the next day and talked to someone else and they filled it. Inconsistent too. Will be transferring to Kroger, as I never had a problem there before. A healthcare provider, which I consider a pharmacist to be, should not make you feel like you are doing something wrong when you are picking up meds that your physician has prescribed you for 5 years.

The Publix Pharmacy and all the employees and Pharmacy Techs are great, especially Chris, who really cares about the customers, and always any questions I have.

Completely and utterly incompetent. They can’t seem to decide on operating hours, either. I’ve received a call to come pick up my medicine, only for them to close within ten minutes of the call. That was several weeks ago on a Sunday. I was told they close at 7. Today, I stop by at 6. Pharmacy closed. How can I trust someone to get my medicinal dosages correct if they can’t even get opening and closing times correct? I’ll be swapping to a different pharmacy after this.

We recently moved ….our prescriptions did not …the staff at this Publix ,,got all of my wife’s and my prescriptions moved ..had one ready in a hour while I shopped
