Providence ExpressCare - Pearl District Urgent Care

I went in yesterday with a pretty small skin infection on my finger. The provider (Madeline) prescribed an antibiotic 2 times a day for 5 days. I went to the pharmacy this morning and there were only 5 pills. The pharmacist said that’s how the provider wrote it but acknowledged the error and gave me 10 pills and said they’d call the provider to double check. Then this afternoon my pharmacist called and said a different provider (who hadn’t seen me or my infection) finally got back to them and changed it to 3 times a day for 7 days. Doesn’t give me much confidence in their ability to effectively diagnose and treat me.

This particular office In the Pearl district for Providence Express care is just extraordinary. I have had stitches here twice, and some other infections that were treated very appropriately. The providers have all been PA’s and very qualified. I have been extremely happy with the care that I ever received here.

Probably the best Urgent care visit I’ve ever had! The nurse and doctor were efficient, there was barely a wait (granted it was New Years Day), and they got right to the point. I was in and out! Thank you!

Prior going to this office with my infants ear infection I was ensured that they’re in network with Cigna. Eventually, I received a significant bill. After calling Cigna, they explained that Providence billed as from the physicians name vs providence express care, who is out of network. I hate to give it to an insurance company, but I had an awesome representative who had a 3 way call with me and providence, explained the situation and providence rep ensured me that it would get fixed and that I should ignore the bill reminders and they won’t go into collections. Well, they didn’t. Eventually I checked on the status, was told that their claims department said that they billed accurately, not going to rebill Cigna, and the bill is my responsibility.
