Prisma Health Urgent Care - Lexington Sunset

I visited your urgent care facility on 02/21/2026 due to feeling unwell. While I appreciate being seen, I was very disappointed with the level of professionalism and bedside manner I experienced. When I attempted to explain my symptoms and ask questions about my diagnosis and prescribed medications, I felt dismissed and spoken to in a condescending manner. Instead of receiving clear explanations, I was made to feel as though my questions were unnecessary or uninformed. As a patient, I believe it is reasonable to ask questions about my health and treatment plan. Effective communication and respectful interaction are essential parts of quality medical care. I made am early Saturday morning appointment due to cold like symptoms. Hardly anyone was there. They got me back, treated/diagnosed me and I was out of the door in about 35 to 40 minutes. The NP was awesome! Great bedside manner and informative! Great experience even though I felt horrible.

Let me start out by saying, I am a doctor. My father went to this location to be evaluated for flank pain (pain in his back) and not being able to keep any food or drink down. He was seen by an NP (Nurse practitioner, not a medical doctor / physician). They never touched his back, never checked his sugar (he's a diabetic), never gave him anything for pain or nausea. He asked for IV fluids, they told him not and to drink water, despite him telling them he couldn't drink and felt dehydrated. They obtained a urinalysis which showed blood in his urine, no other findings. They prescribed him an antibiotic for a UTI called Macrobid (you do not treat UTI in men with macrobid it doesn't work), SOLELY based on the blood in his urine. Every staff member was excellent. Very kind. Edwina was very knowledgeable and I definitely felt like she took care of all my needs plus she did an excellent job explaining the situation and making sure I understood my discharge instructions. This was my first time there. I usually go to Saluda pointe LMC but this is much closer and I’ll be definitely going here in future.

My visit to this facility was very pleasant. From the moment I walked in, Nina from front desk greeted my daughter and I very kindly. Nina was very attentive, kindhearted and helped me out with my payment. Then Donna the nurse that took us in, was very caring, super gentle and very patient with my 10 yr old. And finally the NP Teresa made my daughter feel very comfortable, made her laugh and took care of our needs that night. Overall these three ladies were amazing, we had a very excellent experience. I am very grateful for them. Definitely coming back to this location… I just gotta say, I was treated a thousand times better than Lexington Medical…
