Prisma Health Family Medicine–Winnsboro

As a multi-year patient, I can say the worst thing about this rural location is the doctor turnover. However, every Doctor or PA i have worked with has always been helpful, listened, and formed a plan of action with referrals when needed. I have gotten most appointments in a timely fashion. Thw facility is showing it's age, but it is clean and provides needed services.

I had high hopes after my first visit. The doctor was very thorough and seemed genuinely concerned about my health and finding out what was going on with me. Everything went downhill after that. He wouldn't return my calls. Message after message and finally after 9 days. I finally got a message back. This was concerning a major issue. Don't try to call the office...not gonna happen. You can hit every button and it will eventually hang up on you. I will say this, Dr. Whittle is great. She will message you back but others will not. I'm frustrated with Prisma as a whole, and I'm considering switching to MUSC.

You of course can decide if you want to become a patient or not, it's up to you. I have been a patient there for a couple of years and there are pros and cons of it. The pros: all of the staff are very nice, friendly, professional. The physicians are nice, friendly, professional, knowledgeable and spend a lot of time with you. The office is only a few minutes from my house which is a big plus for me. Getting an appointment is easy and the wait time used to be short but because there is only one nurse working there now plus a 'borrowed' nurse, the wait time might be longer. One nurse for five doctors. Wow. Cons: The physicians rarely ever respond to their emails that are listed in the patient portal. You would be better off making an appointment to see them. Even when there were more nurses

One star for how I was treated by the female who answered the phone. She had an attitude and asked questions that were none of her business. Probably hates her job. Give it to someone else

Before today I would have posted this. On the phone with the front desk . She didn't realize she had not disconnected with me . To say the least she andi quote "I meaning her don't ever want to take a call from her again meaning me. That I had burned my bridges. All this time I am listening to her finely I said I am still on the phone. SMH. Of course she stated she was talking about another patience like that made a difference. I am not done I am so upset.
