"We're not allowing parents to be with their child when he's waking up from surgery." "It's because of COVID." No, it's not, it's because some administrator cares more about liability than keeping families together during traumatic events. If they cared about their customers/patients, they would find a way to never separate us except during the actual procedure. I also find it extremely ironic that in a children's hospital they don't even have family restrooms anymore. The family has effectively been replaced at IHC with bad medicine.

I had a really positive experience here with neurology. I came in very stressed because my insurance had told me the doctor was out of network, but I couldn’t make an appointment with a different doctor without waiting months to be seen. Everyone I saw was very, very kind and understanding and reassured me of my options. The medical assistant even called my insurance while we were in the appointment with the doctor and found a way to get the appointment covered. Overall, the whole facility is very family and child friendly. Family bathrooms (including one with adult-sized changing table), crayons and coloring pages, snacks for the kids. No one wants to be here with their kids, but between the extremely kind staff and family accommodations, they make it as positive an experience as possibl
