Prathima Moorthy MD, Pain management

Asked to change up meds from twice a day to same med once per day. Doctor said no, but wanted to continue with various MRI and Out patient injections she gives. I am concerned about radiation from MRI radiation. She said they are not harmful because they use a magnet. I didn't understand. Except that is how Doctors make their money. Long story short, she stopped all meds. Aren't we supposed to be weened off pain meds? I am so done with this office.

I have been seeing Dr. Moorthy for approximately 3 years. The injections I receive in my lumbar and SI joint have helped, and I continue to receive them as needed. They with me to get the medications that work best for me (pain and otherwise). Office Staff is friendly. However, sometimes the wait time (even when you have an AM appointment) is a bit too much.

I’m 79 years old and I’ve suffered with lower back pain since coming home from the Army 53 years ago. I have health issues that make back surgery too risky. My family health care provider finally recommended Dr Moorthy. She worked with me for a few months and finally found the right injection formula that relieved most of pain. Currently I receive injections every three to four months. Life is great now. Obviously, I can say only great things about the care I receive.

I started. Seeing Doctor Moorthy, I was in the middle of getting pain medication from my PCP and during the transition gap I had to take leftover sublingo Medication I had received over a year ago and in the pain that I was with lack of pain medication I took it. Doctor Moorthy discharged me from her program with no explanation with no help, I even had a procedure scheduled to place the bone chips in my SI joints, which I asked for and I have had 5 back surgeries. She is the worst pain management physician on the planet. I highly advise you stay away from this place. Because she has no empathy or moral compass.

I love Dr Moorthy. She is thorough, gentle and excellent at managing pain. Yvonne, her nurse practitioner is also the best.
