Far and away the best experience we’ve had with a physical therapist. Dr Sowder puts a lot of work into building a treatment program that fits the patient. He meets the patient where they are and then challenges them to improve. It is true one-on-one care that you won’t get at the clinics run by hospital networks. An hour of time spent with Dr Sowder is worth two at those places where your therapist may be juggling 2 or 3 patients at once. Can’t recommend highly enough.

I saw Dr. Sowder due to a knee injury I suffered while playing tennis. He was able to diagnose my problem and started rehabbing right away. After a small number of visits, he gave me the tools necessary to continue our work at home, and my knee ultimately made a full recovery. I was impressed with his breadth of knowledge, his determination to solve the problem at hand, and his easygoing nature as we worked together. Highly recommend!

Dr. Matt is top notch, one of the best physical therapists I’ve ever had. He is very knowledgeable and explains stretches and exercises to do at home between visits but also explains how to keep the injury from reoccurring. He is quick to motivate when it seems like healing has stalled, if you’ve ever had an injury you know that feeling. He keeps you going and makes it his goal to get you back to your normal activity level as quickly as possible. I highly recommend him, I drive 1 hour and 15 mins just to have him do my physical therapy!

Dr. Sowder is a very knowledgeable professional who has a passion for what he does. I went to him with severe back pain, and he helped not only alleviate the pain but also help me with a routine I could continue even after my last visit so I could avoid future pain. He was patient and very willing to help and even followed up with emails with extra stretches and recommendations. He went above and beyond and would highly recommend him to anyone!

I’ve had the opportunity to work with Dr Sowder (Matt). following 4 surgeries performed by Dr Ahlfeld. The success of each surgery depended entirely upon my the physical therapy which followed. In each case, Matt’s insights and prescribed therapies resulted in complete recovery and even improved strength and range of motion. I’m very pleased to see that his talents will still be available to me (and Indianapolis) in his new position.
