Pharmacy at Davis Monthan AFB

I wish the military would up grade the pharmacy system. When, I call and activate my RX I do get a text message that I have 1 RX ready. Which one and what about my other ones? A system where we could log into and mark what we would like to activate or refill would be great. It could also let you know if you are trying to refill a RX to early. The staff when I do go to pick up my RX are always so helpful. But most of the time I am having to pull a number because they do not have the answer to where are my other RX. I know they get frustrated as I do.

Eats and every month when I pick up medications has been a breeze.. I must have perfect timing I walk in the door maybe wait one person get my meds and back out the door. Volunteers are the best Thank you

We haven’t had to use the base pharmacy for many years but we recently started to use the one at the BX for my mom who has Tricare insurance. We were conveniently getting her prescriptions from Safe Way until one day Tricare said we had to pay $454.00 for one bottle of Eliquis! We decided to transfer all of her prescriptions over to the base at that point. It was a bit of a hassle to do this but we had no choice. I agree with the other reviewers about the phone system. I found out they have one poor guy answering the phones until 1:00 pm during the week. I’ve had to call twice for information & waited at least 30 minutes each time. The fact that you have to “activate” a new prescription is odd to me & no body explained that to me until today. Also, I signed up for the text alerts but

This pharmacy is so poorly run, it’s remarkable. Not only do they not have a functioning refill system (ie txt to refill, refill reminders, etc.) but you also have no way of contacting them as their phone system NEVER works. They also don’t auto-fill when prescriptions are called in (but say they do on their non-functioning phone prompts) and you have to “call to activate”, but you can never actually get ahold of anyone to activate your prescription. This pharmacy is seriously a hassle to use, I recommend if you’re a prime/standard recipient, go somewhere else.

Forget about everything you’ve experienced in civilian world. If you thought that you were being treated badly —- wrong you were being treated like a king and queen. But the military pharmacy customer service does not exist. They shorted me the majority of my prescription which happens from time to time. I completely understand. However when I went in to pick up another prescription today I was told that when I get down to two or three pills to come back and bring the bottle and they’ll fill it up with the rest. Never mind the long lines where people of all ages have to stand for a minimum of 45 minutes. Never mind the fact that the people in uniform get priority as they should but this will also delay your time. Never mind you’ve already stood in mind another day to pick up your prescript
