Penn State Health Carlisle Outpatient Center Urgent Care

I had an excellent experience at this center. We arrived at 4:30 pm on Saturday. They had no problem checking us in, even though the clinic was due to be closed at 5 pm Everyone was extremely helpful. The check-in receptionist was very patient, even though I had lost my physical insurance card; she got the information she needed from my digital card, and managed to get everything submitted properly. There were several people ahead of me, but the wait was less than 1/2 hour. The staff listened very carefully, especially the nurse practitioner, Michele. The x-ray technician and other staff were also very patient and friendly, despite having to stay after hours on a Saturday evening (in the end, many staff stayed until 6:30, to make sure my treatment was complete). I went here last week. Was checked in by Becca, very quickly and efficiently. Bhushan was very kind and got me checked in and Jaya was the provider who saw me and was very helpful and knowledgeable. Every single person I met with was a pleasure to deal with when I wasn’t feeling great and I was in and out in a very timely manner.

I arrived at 8:05 am on a Sunday with cold and flu symptoms caused by Hand Foot and Mouth. The receptionist was sweet and kind, the provider was so compassionate and understanding. I was suffering from an agonizing sore throat that prevented me from swallowing water. I was exhausted from a week of caring for my sick infant, no sleep, and pain. The nurse that was checking my vitals was horrendous. She was clearly irritated at being there. She made comments about how she felt like she had been there every day this week. How her back was killing her. It started when she went to take my blood pressure and the machine was reading that I was moving. I was not, but the real problem was that she didn't use a big enough cuff for my arms. It left bruises but didn't work. So she had to take it manua

I walked into the office at 5:45pm and they do not close till 7pm they turned me away without even asking what was wrong. I was carrying my 2 year old child and she needed to be seen. I was very disappointed with the lack of compassion and even concern for my young child. There was one other person in the waiting room and only a few cars in the parking lot. The least they could have down was ask what was wrong before turning me away an hour and 15 minutes before they close. I then went to GoHealth Urgent Care on Walnut Bottom Road. Their waiting room was packed and parking lot full and they took in patients till 8pm when they closed even though they were super busy. Wonderful from beginning to end. Kind, compassionate, skilled, thorough, effective. So lucky and happy to have found them at a time of need.
