I have been a patient at 3737 Penn Family Medicine for two years, and while my visits are usually quick and uneventful, my experience today was completely unacceptable. I called around 11 a.m. to address a billing discrepancy regarding a student doctor and my insurance not covering services provided by students. Instead of receiving assistance, I was met with hostility from the receptionist, Keisha. She was argumentative, dismissive, and outright disrespectful. When I calmly relayed what my insurance company had told me, she responded with statements like, “I don’t know what to tell you,” and even accused me of lying by saying, “You’re lying, that’s not true.” No patient should ever be spoken to that way, especially when trying to resolve a billing/insurance concern. I remained composed

Penn primary care is an abysmal. The staff and nurses all warn patients of how poor the service and care is from residents and doctors. The residents really have no experience or input. MD’s don’t give you the time of day. Don’t listen to your concerns, and really aren’t doing the job of caring for their patients. They’re so ready to ship you off to a specialist and have as little contact with you as possible. I recommend no one come here as it is a prime example of failing health care in our country. And PA more specifically Philadelphia should be ashamed and should be holding its medical professionals to a much higher standard.

Just got told that despite being in contact with them for referrals, I haven't been in person for 3 years so I am now a new patient and they don't have any appointments for new patients. Because I don't have an appointment, they will not do even a courtesy referral, so I cannot see my urologist. They suggest calling back periodically to see if an appointment becomes available as the only way I will be permitted to have a referral for overdue cancer screening. Will find a real doctor and never go back to this place.

The quality of care itself is strong, but actually accessing that care is extremely difficult. If you ever need to follow up after a visit or ask a clarifying question, reaching the office is nearly impossible. MyChart messages frequently go unanswered — in one case, I am still waiting for a reply from provider Francoise Marie Jean, CRNP. The call center assures patients that someone from the clinical office will return the call, but those callbacks rarely happen. The lack of responsiveness significantly undermines what would otherwise be a high standard of clinical care.

I have been a patient hear at Penn for years and the treatment that I have received from some of the agents that answer the phone has been so horrible I’ve had one agent tell me I know your address I’ve been harassed and lied on from the agents when they get loud with me and argumentative I immediately ask to speak with there manager they try to team up on me, it has been a nightmare Its a form of discrimination that I have received & unethical treatment. The agents have hung up on me a few times and I had to report them, when I report the agents at the call center nothing was done about. This is why so many hospitals today are being sued for negligence, discrimination and unlawful treatment. I been a great patient for years the agents from years ago were nice before Covid the new agents a
