Penn Dental Family Practice at University City

I’m super-impressed with Penn Dental Family Practice. It’s light years beyond anything I’ve experienced before. Here are highlights: • The doctors, technicians, and staff are all highly competent, knowledgeable, and eager to help. • They give you as much time as you need. It’s not a rush-rush conveyor belt. • They take a collaborative team approach, keeping each other well informed, which makes for a more effective and well-coordinated patient experience. • They have lots of doctors in most (all?) specialties, so just about all you need is under one roof. • Their facilities look like state-of-the-art technology. I have an extremely tough time at this practice location, as I've also visited their Locust Walk facility - that one's usually more crowded but somehow, this one allows me to wait in the lobby for 20-45+ minutes. I had a 2pm and at 2:18, I asked what time my appointment was, I thought maybe I'd written it down wrong. Everyone who was there both before and after me went back before me. The tech was super duper nice when she retrieved me from the lobby but the two ladies at check-in are nasty. They've been consistently unhelpful and difficult since I started using this practice in 2023. Once, they owed me a refund and requested it back to my care account, instead of the way I paid. They also failed to tell me that their refund system was undergoing an update so it took almost two months. The

We came to Penn Family Dental Practice because my 12-year-old son needed more than laughing gas. He had to be put under anesthesia for the extraction of three teeth. Dr. Steven Wang was incredible in the way he navigated my son’s anxiety, especially around getting an IV. His patience and care made a huge difference in the experience. It’s true that we did wait past our scheduled time, both at the consultation and on the day of the procedure, but the practice is very busy and the staff was proactive in communicating what was happening. Everyone we interacted with was attentive, from the dental team to the office staff. I've been going to this practice since I moved to Philadelphia over 10 years ago. They've never been nothing but amazing. They are very communicative and pay attention to their patients' concerns. The hygienists are excellent and the dentists I've interacted with are kind, courteous, friendly, and respectful.

It has always been excellent… from the office people… to the dentist and assistant… to the hygienist. Never a complaint from be. The best dentist I have ever been too.
