If I could leave negative stars I would. I’ve been a physician for 30 years and have never seen a worst department in terms of patient care. The doctors are fine, but the difficulty in responsiveness, care and concern is non-existent with staff and messaging. Trying to get an appointment in a timely manner never happens. Getting a prescription filled takes an act of God, a miracle if you can get it filled even after 48 hours. Be prepared for frustration. If your condition does not need an academic care doctor, go to a good community doctor.

I can’t believe I waited months, traveled over an hour each way and paid $80 for this appointment. The “Doctor” (Scott F. Feldman) and I use that title loosely was cold, unhelpful and dismissive. I waited 45 minutes past my appointment time (not to mention the 15 minutes early they require you to be there) for him to send his med student in to find out why I was there. She was lovely and took my history, was caring and engaged. He came in with my visit summary papers already printed and basically handed them to me and said he was sorry that I had anaphylactic shock twice but there was nothing he could do for me to figure out what I’m allergic to. Told me to avoid the medication. Really? I didn’t know I should do that. I saw him for 2 minutes. I was in shock, angry and just defeated. His be

The administrative bureaucracy at Penn Medicine Allergy and Immunology in horrendous, definitely not a patient focused process. As a matter of fact, my referring Penn Medicine doctor stated that it was notoriously bad, and suggested that I go to another provider. The process is best described as a black hole, everything goes in, and nothing ever comes out. No one feels obligated to contact the patient. I have probably called close to a dozen times in the last 3 months (yes 3 months), and NO ONE HAS EVER CALLED ME BACK. I see several other Penn Medicine doctors, and their system certainly has my name and contact info. I have not had any other issue with the other Penn Medicine departments. Perhaps Allergy and Immunology has just one administrator and they are totally overwhelmed

I made an appointment with Dr. Patel at Allergy and Immunology department At 37373 Market Street at 1 PM on 9/23/2024 about 5 months ago. I had to take time off in the middle of day from my job to make the appointment. When I came, the secretary on the front desk told me that the doctor cannot see me because of my insurance requires referral. I told her that I am ready to pay out of pocket because this appointment was very important for me. However, she was very rude and she told me that since I had insurance, they would not accept out of pocket money. Why was I not informed about my insurance ahead of time? Why did you wait for 5 months? What type of treatment and what type of policy is this!!!!! I wanted to pay out of pocket and turned down. No solution; such waste of time :(

Pathetic that everyone of these bad reviews got the same boilerplate response that doesn't provide a name or phone number of someone who will help them. Whoever runs this department should be embarrassed. Thanks for the warning. I will seek treatment elsewhere.
