There were a lot of things I really appreciated about this practice but ultimately the cons outweighed the pros. The nurses were all uniformly great, helpful, kind, common sense. Drive through vaccinations for COVID and flu made it so easy. Waits were always extremely long- up to an hour after being taken to an exam room. Office always reeked of cigarette smoke; in guessing from a neighboring business. Not Pelican’s fault, but very unpleasant. We had to ask Dr. Malhi to stop bringing up one of our son’s weight at every visit. We were not in denial about his chubbiness— but being lectured about it at every single encounter was not helpful for a kid who hadn’t hit his growth spurt yet and was being bullied by a neighborhood kid about it. Everything went wonderfully during our visit. I was especially impressed with how helpful the administrator, Oksana, was — she assisted us with scheduling the appointment and patiently answered all of our questions. The doctor was amazing with my child and managed to find a great approach. Previously, my child often had meltdowns during doctor visits, but this time everything went smoothly. We felt comfortable, supported, and truly cared for.

Measles spreading around our state (didn’t think I’d see the day) and many parents anxious about potential exposures. I was genuinely relieved to know that when I take my kids to the doctor, Dr. Varadi insists on a fully vaccinated practice! I also asked whether my 3.5 year old could receive his measles booster six months early, and they readily agreed. They made the process seamless.

I feel so confident in choosing Pelican Pediatrics. As a first time parent, the newborn stage has been overwhelming. Dr Rodriguez took time to understand and answer every question we had, circling back to ensure we understood her responses and really being thorough in making sure we felt more confident leaving. I’m also extremely grateful to have found a care team that will continue to champion vaccinations. This was my main requirement in selecting a pediatrician and I truly feel like we found the right team.

We absolutely love the practice and all doctors have been very helpful, especially Dr. Mahli. My children (1 and 3 years old) are always given a lot of attention and guidance on navigating different stages of development.
