Pediatrics at Medstar Good Samaritan

My family had a horrible experience with the front desk staff during our newborn appointment. Dr. Aung is an in-network pediatrician and yet their office does not follow standard billing practices for newborn appointments. I do not recommend scheduling your newborn appointment with this practice. When we called their office weeks prior to birth, they said we have nothing to worry and that we should just call when the baby is born. When we called at the hospital after our delivery, they told us to call our insurance provider to add our baby to our policy and get a reference number before the appointment. We called both the insurance and HR department at our emplyoer to start this process. They informed us that we should give the mom's insurance information for the first 30 days until the p

Everyone at this office seems to know that the front staff is the first impression a patient will get and these ladies do an awesome job. My two girls see Dr. Aung and he is the best. He takes his time to answer any questions and the kids love him. Very knowledgeable and down to earth. We have seen nurse CRNP Ashley also, and she is great too. I have been taking my children there for YEARS and have not had a complaint about them yet. Just such a good team of people.

Dr. Aung refused to care for my child because the practice/hospital is catholic! Literally their words. This practice put my daughter on birth control to treat her acne and regulate her cycle, she has been on it for months now and as of today they refuse to refill the prescription because they are a catholic practice and will no longer provide her with the medication THEY started her on in the first place. This practice should be shut down for malpractice!

Let me start by saying this review is for a single provider with the practice. We followed Dr. B and Dr. Aung from York Belvedere Medical Center. As is such my family and I have been with Good Samaritan Pediatrics for over 25 years and it’s sad but the reputation of that office is absolutely horrible now. I have never considered taking my children elsewhere until my interaction with their current nurse practitioner, Annalise, this weekend. She was very responsive a few days ago when I reached out regarding my 15 year old daughter, who has a history of severe asthma with multiple hospitalizations; however, that was not the case today. Best choice I ever made for the care of our daughter, Doctor Aung is very effective and has no issues explaining what's going on with your child. I highly recommend him and plan to have his as my family pediatrician from here on out.
