Parkview DeKalb Hospital Emergency Department

Parkview ER departments literally suck!! I have been there several times. Tonight I was there for internal bleeding and was examined and told I don’t see any blood or any need for test to be done, then discharged and sent home.

Took my daughter to the ER on 10.14.2024 due to an injury to her arm and Jared Snoke MD came in and hardly looked at her arm and then told me that she was fine. I left and was very disappointed. I called her pediatrician the next morning, they got her in, examined her and were shocked that there was no imaging done when we took her to the ER the night before. Thanks to my daughters pediatrician, she was properly treated and we discovered she has an elbow joint diffusion. If I could give zero stars, I would. I've never felt so dismissed from a doctor up until my daughter’s visit with Jared Snoke MD.

This place absolutely SUCKS on the regular, but I am giving Dr. Adam (Retting?) A 5 star rating for sure! Unfortunately he only works here part time though or I'd only try to go when he was available. My 4 year old daughter had gotten attacked by a pitbull and had to have some puncture wounds in her face closed up and as scary / traumatizing as it was Dr. Adam did an absolute amazing job getting her all fixed up and taken care of! His nurse was amazing too and we loved both of them. We have never gotten so lucky here before with the staff we got. The medical field needs more people like him and the nurse we had, unfortunately I cannot remember her name. The treatment we received was absolutely amazing and wholesome. Please be sure to address negative experiences with Parkview’s patient advocates so that we can bring about change. We deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. I am so disappointed with the care I received from the er physician. Poor bedside manner actively harms patients.

Billed me less than a month after service. I had an electrocardiogram done on me & the nurses were inconsiderate & made the entire experience very uncomfortable. I started paying my bill back online & then got the run-around. I made two payments then!...All of a sudden I was unable to make payments online the same way I did before. I emailed the customer service & gave them ALL of my information...they had no idea what to do even though I was still receiving paper bills in the mail. So after navigating their website for a couple of hours I finally was able to figure out how to make payments again no thanks to them. In hindsight I should have just sucked it up & went to Parkview North in Fort Wayne.
