I saw a physician here last year for evaluation of ongoing stomach pain. The visit felt very rushed and lasted less than 15 minutes. The abdominal exam was performed while I was standing, which felt unusual and incomplete. Based on this brief visit, I was advised to consider removal of my gallbladder and appendix. After further evaluation elsewhere, it was determined that these surgeries were not necessary. I left feeling that my concerns were not fully explored and that major surgical recommendations were made without sufficient diagnostic workup. I would have appreciated a more thorough evaluation and discussion of conservative or alternative explanations for my symptoms.

Long story short, I went in for consultation for a minor surgery. I was not able to see or talk to the actual surgeon till the day of surgery. I was advised it would be around a 4 week healing period and min to no restrictions. Many, many months later, another surgery, weekly visits to wound care, thousands and thousands of dollars spent, and I still have problems! Besides loosing out on work, trips and simple daily activities, the worst part is they have sent letter after letter, threatening to put the me/account in collections EVEN THOUGH I was on an automatic payment (never missed a payment). Been trying to establish an appointment. First established was 9-16 and did receive a call on 9-5 that it would need to be rescheduled. My husband did not check his messages timely. She on 9-16 I called to get another appointment and it was set for 9-18. Well on today at 3:24 we received a phone message that this appointment needed to be rescheduled. I called and was told 9-22. I asked for anything earlier and the young lady said nothing earlier available. I told her that my husband was in pain with the groin hernia. She apologized and said that was the earliest they have. Being I have not interacted with the doctor I can only give 2 stars because it seems there is an issue with appointments. I recently had my gallbladder removed by Dr. Smith. Dr. Smith is an amazing surgeon who displays compassion, active listening, expertise and is extremely caring. He explains everything in detail with excellent communication. I appreciate the gift Dr Smith was to me and all his patients. I received amazing care from him and felt heard and valued.
