PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Texarkana

My mother, an active lady, had her hip replaced at Christus St. Michael’s hospital. They then recommended transferring her to PAM. There are some very sweet people at this facility, however, it is not a place you want to take a person who is not about to die. My mother started developing fluid in her lungs, which was noted, but the main problem was they were not getting her up (or sitting her up)and moving enough to combat this issue. We had to constantly request that she be sat up and rehab to come and help her get going again. (no, this is not a rehab facility, but it should be part of taking care of a human being if it will help them heal. This facilitation should make it readily available or get out of business!) My mother has been to this facility several times and The experience we encounter for the month she was in recently was horrible...She was left with her sugar bottoming out & a Nurse (which is a caregiver of hers and a friend of ours she doesn't work in this facility.) was there just to visit (not to do their job) caught it before it was too bad & she stated that they acted as if they didnt want to give her anything then to bring her sugar up, but the 2days after was horrible and on the 3rd day she was not responsive I had to put give her sugar and orange juice to try and get her to come to she was left unattended in the condition she was in and no one responded the doctor finally let the nurse give her sugar water this was after I had given her the sugar and orange juice but the days fol

They took such great care of my dad! The nurses, case managers, respiratory, therapy and all the other staff were so good to my dad. They made him smile and laugh. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing hospital type care after a hospital stay.

The facility is friendly and welcoming when you arrive. Everything is done to make the experience positive. Great care is given to ensure a clean and healthy environment. What makes PAM Health Specialty Hospital stand out is the caring, professional staff. They provide the knowledge, skill, and resources to improve the patient’s health. I am very pleased with the progress my husband has made so far and expect even more in the future.
