I had 2 visits to Oviedo Medical Center on 1/20/2026; one at 9 am for my surgery (hysterectomy). Everything appeared to be fine, when I awoke from it at noonish. I was asked if I wanted to go home, and, I said "yes". I was immediately given my clothes, without a pee test, and went home. At 8 pm, I still could not pee and hadn't since 5 am, hours before the surgery. At 8 pm, I was vomiting profusely, as well. My sister helped me down 3 flights of steps and rushed me back to ER @ Oviedo Medical Center. I checked in. The Dr walked in and asked why I was there, not semingly having read my chart. I explained I was nauseated, in serious pain, and had not peed after surgery that morning. The nurse installed a Foley and ordered nauseated and pain shots. The shots were ready for at least 3 hours,
My experience with the Oviedo medical center and its staff was absolutely amazing. When I got there I was warmly greeted by the receptionist who checked me in there was a small wait, as my appointment was early in the morning and I arrived prior to the staff arriving themselves. Then I was seated in a room where I was to wait a moment for instructions. My blood pressure was taken questions were asked regarding my medical and then I was put in my room. Upon being in my room the IVs and everything were placed and I was treated so special like I was someone of significant importance and I truly appreciate that everything was explained well and simply so that I could understand the surgery that I was undergoing. The surgery was smooth and successful and I was home the same day and now I am hea
My visit was to have a Pacemaker inserted into my heart. My first contact with the team was prearrival phone visit with Jessice who took all my information and answered my questions. Upon arrival at the facility, I was met right at the main entrance where the admittance proceeded. I was then ushered into the prep area where a team of nurses prepped me for the surgery. Jessica was also a member of this team. I was visited by a rep from the pacemaker manufacturer, Medtronic, who provided information on the device and answered all of my questions. My Dr, his assistant and the Anesthesiology team also visited. When it was time to go to the operating room more people joined the team - one in particular I remember who was great I think the name was Shana - not positive of spelling. After
Took my wife there to have a total knee replacement, from the moment you are welcomed in at the front lobby until escorted out in a wheelchair, after the procedure, my wife and I were treated like royalty. Everyone was super friendly, super nice, and superior in their knowledge and work ethics. I was kept informed of her pre- and post- surgery condition. Not one bad thing to say about her surgery there.
This hospital should seriously consider shutting down. Honestly, I’ve seen better service in Third World countries. My son recently underwent surgery. The procedure was performed early in the morning. He was placed in a room shortly after. I flew from abroad to meet my son at the hospital. I got to the hospital at around 2pm to hear my son tell me that he had not been seen by a doctor, and he was unaware of his status. My son was accompanied by his girlfriend. I called the nurses, and they asked my son about his status. Since when does a nurse ask a patient about their status? Major red flag! The nurse proceeded to look at a computer but didn’t have answers to my son’s status. She then told me that she would come back soon with an answer. Two hours went by and the nurse simply disappeared.
