Customer Reviews
My mother was hospitalized for 9 days in February 2026. I was unable to travel the first 5 days to the Outer Banks due to snow and ice in Virginia and staff were sensitive to this and kept me and my mother in contact. I was so impressed with the technology of guest passes and the efficiency and cleanliness of the hospital when I arrived. Her Nurse Nadia kept me well informed as did the emergency room staff. Her attending physician Dr. Taffera-Deihl was compassionate and responsive. The gentleman performing the housekeeping duties was superb. Thank you for your kindness and excellent medical care.
Everyone was very kind and they knew their job. They made me feel very comfortable and special and told me everything that I needed to know about the surgery. Before the surgery. So happy that I was able to get Dr McKenna as my new Doctor. He is very gentle and a great doctor. Everything went well . Can’t say enough good about the hospital and the staff.
I’m not sure which experience you’re referring to here. I have found the personnel to be absolutely wonderful. My early experiences (starting about 2-3 years ago) were wonderful. Last year, however, I had a lung scan that showed a kidney stone. Unfortunately, those results were not available until a couple of months later, after I had been to the ED and transferred to another hospital because of a kidney stone with inflammation that had blocked my urethra. This might have been avoided if the lung scan results had been available in a more timely manner.
Recently had to spend a couple nights in the hospital. It all started in the ER, then surgery, then two nights admitted. Everyone I met, and I mean everyone, was helpful, pleasant, professional, and good at their job. My surgery was after hours, and the surgeon of all people went to find my wife when she arrived. Sure, they can't do surgeries like open-heart, but for my condition (appendectomy) and others like it, this is a top-notch facility. Small, but modern, clean, and well-run. Thanks to all at OBH Hospital. Appreciate y'all so much.
Outer Banks Hospital staff were awesome. From checking in through discharge, all the people I interacted with were friendly and kind. In particular, pre-op nurse Jeanne and recovery nurse Colleen were professional and caring. I can’t say enough good things about them.
