Osco Pharmacy

After being forced to use CVS for years, CVS was always crowded, they had issues with filling my scripts and they were not always that helpful. I am now retired and was able to move to Osco Pharmacy over in Stow Mass. I couldn't be happier. Its closer to home and easier to get to. The staff is friendly and helpful and I can get some food shopping done at the same time. A win win.

This branch failed to mail my prescriptions to me twice in a row, putting me in a very hard position both times. I received them for years without trouble, and I was never notified of any policy changes or problems with my prescriptions that would cause this. For further context, I cannot drive to this branch. I moved my prescriptions here to follow a pharmacist that I liked from another Osco. The first time, the person I spoke to said he'd forgotten to put them in the mail. The second time, I was just told "well, I don't know why they don't get sent but they've gone back to stock". When someone is relying on their medications, this is not an acceptable pattern. Often are fine, generally less busy than some of the others in the area. Unfortunately, seem to have difficulties getting supplies of prescription items at times. Last prescription was a common hypertension drug and their supply was "out of date". The replacement did NOT show up in the next shipment. Sadly, time to go elsewhere I'm thinking.

Won't use again changed prescription and quantity without notifying me that they were out or short stocked. Forced me to transfer somewhere else that had the very basic med and made it very difficult doing so ignoring transfer request from other pharmacy. Both osco and cvs has issues calling people in saying script is complete when they are out of stock or filled with a small percentage of scripts quantity and making people come in to find out after and then holding scripts hostage. They need to notify before not after simple and work better with people not just a fill and forget station.

I have been using this pharmacy for the 7 years I lived in Stow, I took off about two years when I needed to have a 24 hour pharmacy, but when I returned from CVS in the middle of the pandemic it was one of the best decisions I’ve made, their hours were improved, and their customer service was beyond exceptional. They always answer the phone and I’ve never known people who were more helpful and kind, always willing to go above and beyond for their customers. Cy is like the perfect example of your small town pharmacist, he knows everyone by name and is always eager to help you understand your meds or make a recommendation. I hesitate to write the review only because I like having this hidden gem to myself, but alas, they are an amazing asset to our community and they deserve their praise sh
