Optum Radiology - Midwood

I visit Optum-Midwood in Brooklyn 2-3 times a year for the last 5 years for routine imaging. I chose this location because they have a wide bore MRI machine, 3D Mammography, and most importantly I trust their expertise. My visits have been mostly pleasant, and when an issue arose, the front desk manager addressed it immediately. The true gem at this location for me is Michael Gitelman, the MRI Technicians. He knows his work inside and out, he's patient, and always professional. I am severely clostrophobic, and his calm demeanor helps put me at ease. He take the time to explain every step clearly regardless of how many times I've been there. He talks to me throughout the procedure which gives me the courage and confidence to follow through. I read mixed reviews but had a great experience! The receptionist and technician were nice, and my mom’s appointment was done in 15 minutes.

Wasted an entire day- took off work, for them to tell me in the end that the MRI machine that they scheduled me for, wasn’t good enough (they actually pulled me out the machine mid session). Then they re-scheduled me for another location in Bay Ridge like it was some kind of a joke. Please avoid this place.

I have been to other Optum offices but this one was horrible. The person checking me in was ok, and so was the wait time. The technician was rude and dismissive. I asked for an extra pillow and she put paper sheets under my head. She did not say what this sonogram would entail. Instead she slobbered gel all over my shirt and hair. The room smelled of spoiled food and there was no ventilation. The bathroom in the waiting room was filthy. There was urine splattered on the floor. Totally disgusting!

Very irresponsible attitude to cancel of appointment for kids right away. We came to 2005 Coney Island ave, as we had appointment at 11:30. Kids did not eat anything as were required they missed school, we planned our day. But when we came here they are informed us, that our appointments were canceled, because the technician doesn’t work today. According of girl in front desk they left voicemail, which I missed it. Usually medical facilities sent message about changes. So what yo do?
