Optum Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus - Great Neck

I had an urgent eye issue today and Dr. Robert Auerbach was incredible. I came in with severe discomfort, and he was patient, calm, and extremely thorough. He took the time to explain everything he was doing, made sure I felt comfortable, and successfully removed the object that had been stuck under my eyelid. The relief was immediate. His professionalism, skill, and kindness made a really stressful situation so much easier. I’m truly grateful for the care I received. If you ever need an eye specialist who actually listens and knows what they’re doing, I highly recommend Dr. Robert Auerbach!

I love Dr Auerbach, but was shocked at the price of my bill. I was not told that I needed or was going to get additional tests, and the cost was so much higher than ever before. I called and the price was lowered by over $200, but I still have a bigger bill than ever before. I know nothing about additional tests, or why I needed them, and why I was originally charged for them

Longest wait I have ever experienced in any kind of doctor’s office .. a wait to be seen initially and then another wait far longer than they said after the dilation … they billed my insurance over 3x what the price would’ve been if I didn’t have insurance and still sent me a bill for more money even though my insurance paid more than their cash price .. seems like a scam

This clinic is very irresponsible. I ordered Atropine through them more than a month ago, but I still haven’t received the medication. I’ve called the clinic over ten times (most of the calls went unanswered) and also called the pharmacy about ten times, but both sides just keep passing the responsibility back and forth. No one is following up, no one is updating me on the progress, and I haven’t received any messages. Shouldn’t the clinic at least confirm with the pharmacy that the order has been received by the pharmacy, instead of leaving the customer to call both places repeatedly for an entire month?

Great location / friendly staff and very spacious office. The Doctors did a very comprehensive eye exam to diagnose my eye condition. My new GO TO for all my eye care.
