Optum Multi-Specialty - Thornwood

This place just keeps getting worse! I’ve been waiting 2 weeks for test results which have been sent to my doctors office twice already and still no record of the results in my chart because no one can be bothered to scan same into the doctor’s chart. I originally went to an outside provider because every appointment you try to schedule here is 6 months to a year out. I finally called myself and had the results sent directly to me. Let’s hope it’s not bad news because Optum just wastes time that could be significant. And when a doctor decides to cut back on their work schedule perhaps notify your patients- just common decency.

We had to take our 3 year old son to the Marble Ave Urgent Care at 8am this morning. When we got there, we were greeted with a lovely receptionist. Dr. Olivia treated our son with kindness and patience! If we are ever in need of an Urgent Care, this is the first place we will go! Great experience!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this urgent care facility. I went once for myself for a sinus infection in the winter and while the wait was long bc it was very busy, the doctor and nurses were lovely and sympathetic. This week, we had to take our son for a strep culture and he has sensory issues which make that a very difficult process. The nurses, Sharon and Seleni, were OUTSTANDING- compassionate, efficient and kind. The doctor (Walther) was also very personable.

CareMount should find something else besides Urgent Care to call themselves, because there was not one thing 'urgent' or 'caring' about our visit. Some background- my husband is covered by my employer provided insurance, but we haven't been issued new cards for this year. My plan was to ask the receptionist or billing specialist if there would be a way to put her in touch with my HR manager and have her access the insurance eligibility that way. I asked a young woman this question and she replied that she was a nurse, and the front desk person was running late and should be here 'soon'. She showed up about 10 minutes later, 20 minutes after the office opened. When she came in, I approached the desk. She said "insurance?" I said, I have a question regarding insurance. Just had such a great experience here. Super friendly staff, thoughtful nurses and an approachable and highly likable doctor. So glad they're here. This will definitely be our go to place whenever we need urgent care.
