Optum Gastroenterology - Lake Success - Marcus Ave

I recently called Optum Gastroenterology in Lake Success while searching for a provider. I had been feeling uneasy about scheduling a colonoscopy and had a ton of questions. I was fortunate to get Joyce on the phone, and she was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and kind—she took the time to answer every one of my questions, reassured me that the providers at this practice really listen to patients and their concerns, and even went above and beyond to help me try to set up an appointment. It’s truly unfortunate that Optum doesn’t accept my insurance (Healthfirst), because I was really looking forward to meeting Joyce in person and moving forward with this practice. Exceptional customer service like hers is rare, and she left me with a very positive impression

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE! They lie about the cost and will NOT give you any notice or bills before sending to debt collection. I asked for the cost before doing the surgery and the front desk told me they ran with my insurance and everything is covered. I trusted them and indeed I did not receive any bills until i was contacted by debt collection unexpectedly. I immediately called the office about the itemized bill and of course they told me 100 days after the date of service, the bills will automatically be sent to debt collection. Wow I was never contacted nor received any bills in mail or email. BE AWARE, If you don’t want to waste your time dealing with unexpected bills with debt collection, call multiple entities, fell frustrations about the medical system, STAY AWAY!

Great place to come for medical tests/procedures and/or doctors visits. All staff starting from doctors to nurses, to PAs, receptionists and all involved, very professional, passionate and kind with great manners.

Dr Haseeb Ahmed was very thorough and kind. He explained everything well. He took the time to go over my medical history and was not rushed. Even the staff had nice things to say about him. I would definitely recommend him.

Dr. Eleazer Yousefzadeh is such a great doctor. I felt comfortable with him instantly and he has been helping me so much.
