Every year so far since I started my Medicare supplement with Optimum things change. First, they was giving a grocery allowance of $85 per month and that included pet care. Then, the next year they removed the pet care items and dropped their grocery allowance to $80 per month. Now once again for 2026 they dropped their grocery allowance to $70 a month. Not a $5 dollar drop, rather a $10 dollar drop! Grocery prices go up and they keep dropping the allowance down. What's it going to be in 2027, $60 a month and so on? Net Benifit passed the blame to Optimum, and Optimum pass the blame to Medicare. Next enrollment period we are definitely looking to make a positive change. They aren't the only circus in town.

They keep denying services, my radiology tests that were ordered have had to be postponed, my cardiac stress tests have been postponed because they keep denying claims my orders for durable medical supplies by my PCP have been denied. This is healthcare denied, funded by Medicare. I worked hard my whole life for this.

Wow, I was thinking of this health plan ( Optimum) until I read some of the reviews. I guess I will just stay put with my current health insurance....

Wish I could give -10. They don't answer their phones no matter what number you choose, then cut you off. My sister has waited OVER 1 year to be reimbursed for eye surgery which the family paid the eye doctor. Two or 3 times submitted paperwork. Still no money which is needed to purchase the prosthetic eye. Is this the kind of insurance you want to deal with? Go straight Medicare - they offer the best health coverage. You can always make payments if there is money owed. My 90 year old aunt had no problem paying small amounts on bills. Update - 2-3 years later and still no refund of the $4k the family paid upfront for the surgery. Beware of what you are getting in to. There is more, but I have no more room. We have had Optimum insurance since moving back to FL in 2016. Since then I have had a stroke requiring months of rehab. The physical therapists at the hospital recommended a rehab that wasn’t on our list. I sent a short letter to Optimum explaining why my medical team thought that was a better option and they approved it immediately. My husband and I have each had a knee replacement and several small surgeries. We have found Optimum to be excellent. I’m a retired nurse and was really concerned about going with an advantage plan, but I’m so happy we did. It is very difficult to navigate the medical system now. We have an excellent primary and I think that is the key to getting good medical care whatever insurance you decide on.
