Ochsner Urgent Care & Occupational Health - Metairie

This is the 2nd time we were here. Last time we were here, we waited for 1.5 hr and saw no one so we left. We have been here for 45 mins already and we are still in the lobby. There were not many patients both times. I will try to avoid this location from now on. I don't think I have to wait long at other Oschner locations. Their small parking lot is empty but the wait long.

One star is for the nurse who was pleasant & professional. Otherwise this place deserves 0 stars. I waited an hour to see the "doctor" after the nurse took me back and it was a waste of time. Dr Olivier has no compassion, doesn't listen to patients & actually lies to them! She barely spent 5 minutes with me & when I tried to explain that these sinus congestion systems I came in with is something that I've had my whole life & they always require antibiotics, she dismissed me out of hand citing CDC guidelines. I told her guidelines are 1 things, I'm telling you my life experience. She then lied to me saying she would get "in trouble with the CDC" if she prescribed me a Z-pack! The CDC has NO law enforcement authority outside of quarantines! The State is the entity that regulates medical lice

Good service for a quick diagnosis. Only minus one star because the ventilation in the building has black mold. I recognized it when my eyes got very itchy out of nowhere upon entering, went outside and was fine. Black mold is visible on multiple air vent intakes. Doesn’t seem acceptable for a medical facility, please fix that. Could lead to misdiagnosis of patients.

Amanda the Security lady was amazing and very kind. I come here all the time and my boyfriend or who ever I am with is always allowed to come in with me, unfortunately this time I had to bring my sister and the receptionist in time was rude not allowing me to go in with her just smiling and telling me “she declined you to enter” referring to my sister- she never said that . It is annoying but what can you do right? Anyways Amanda was super nice and handled things calmly and with a nice attitude. I have never had any problem at this facility, in all my past visits I have been atended quick, in a kind manner addressing the issues. I do recommend this place, Doctors and nurses in my experience have always been kind.

Believe it or not, I had an appointment last Thursday for 2pm and was out the door by 2:55pm. I was greeted with a genuine smile by the woman at the front desk. Every patient that came in after me was treated just the same. The medical assistant was courteous and treated me with respect. The attending doctor was just as nice and was very thorough with her discharge instructions for my upper respiratory infection. I was absolutely blown away with the level professionalism and kindness from the moment I walked through the door all the way back out. If you’re in need of an urgent care center, this is the one you want to drive out of your way for. Great job, Ochsner!
