Oakpark Health & Rehabilitation Center

The food is awful. Like bad hospital food. The dining room was freezing on several occasions and instead of the staff raising the temperature (vs keeping the AC on high) they went out and came back in with sweaters on while we all were freezing while trying to eat lunch. It appears the staff to patient ratio is too low. Pushing the call button for a nurse does not result in any type of reasonale response. Plus, some patients cant even find the button to push and are left alone for long periods. Room, floor, tray, were all mostly dirty while we were there for a week. Some Nurse Assistants were better than others - most weren't very servcie oriented - they just did the bare minumum. Therapy schedule was all over the place - never knew what day or time my mom was getting therapy unless I aske

My friend is there for rehab I visited 2 times. I met his therapist on the first visit, she us very good with Kay. At my 2nd visit it was evident that my friend was more responsive. That says your people are giving him good care as he is improving. He told me the food is good. His room is clean and during my visits there were no odors which attests to the cleanliness of your facility. My & his hope he can get home soon. Your employees are all doing a great job.

Well, I’m visiting my sister-in-law there so I’m not a resident or a patient but the place is always clean. The staff seems very nice and my sister-in-law was there once before and she went back so that says something for the place. I’m hoping they make sure she can function well and make it to the bathroom and fix herself food. I live with her but I am older as well and I work full time. Plus I go out of town to visit my son and can be gone for over 24 hours, and may have to go to Ohio soon, my brother is 76 and is having health issues.

I want to express my deep frustration with the care we have received for my mother at this facility. Recently, her meal tray was taken away before she had finished eating, simply because she hadn’t completed her meal within the allotted time. This left my mother without dinner, and I find this practice inhumane and utterly disrespectful to the needs of the residents, especially those who may have difficulty eating quickly. It is crucial that the facility reconsider its policies and provide a more compassionate and flexible approach to caring for its residents.

Lubna hameed called the nurse lulu the wound care… is by far one of the most organized, considerate and certainly knows her business and all I have to do is smile at her she comes running to help. She’s awesome nurse here.. I understand she is becoming a full-fledged nurse I believe she will be one of the best ever and a fantastic inspiration for both staff and patients.
