OakBend Medical Center - Wharton Hospital Campus

This hospital should be investigated and held accountable. I personally witnessed unsafe, unsanitary conditions — roaches, rusted showers, mold in ceilings, and unreliable hot water on patient floors. Staff restrooms and break rooms are filthy and not maintained. I also witnessed what appears to be targeted, unexplained firings of Black staff members with no prior write-ups or documented incidents — an atmosphere that feels discriminatory and unlawful. I have photos and videos supporting these claims and will be sharing them with regulators. Until an independent inspection addresses these conditions and the apparent discriminatory personnel practices, I would not recommend this hospital for patients or employees. Wow Texas 🤯!! Believe me when I say if I could give negative stars I would!! I didn’t even get a chance to be seen. I came to the ER with chest pains, dizziness and blurry vision. I wasn’t even offered to have a seat. Intake was too concerned about typing in a computer, my insurance and signatures than my symptoms. I explained that my vision is blurry and I cannot see to read the small printed form that I would be signing. I was told unless I sign I would not be treated. I had to leave and travel to another hospital emergency in hopes to receive the emergency care I need. Please read reviews and warning.

OakBend has been amazing and very thorough, from giving out meds to just giving great care. Checking in every hour, answering call lights, and just being super friendly. Thanks to Laura, laquisia, Sean, Xavier, Victoria, meta, Mrs tee, and Rudy from the ER, and especially DR Hayes! Thank you all for the great care.

Recently our grandson was a horrific auto accident, they tried to life flight him to Houston Memorial med center but had to divert to Wharton Oak Bend due to grandson emergency. The nurses and Drs did they best but we lost our grandson. The staff was very patient with our mass of family and friends, later my pastor came to prayer with us and several of the nurses joined us as they felt all the love we had for him and wanted to prayer . I had a great experience at Oak Bend Wharton. I went there for an ultrasound and Xray of leg and knee. Check-in desk ladies and technicians were so professional, knowledgeable and kind. So much better than having to fight traffic going into Houston. Highly recommend.
