Am currently at Woodhull hospital. I was showering with hot water and The steam from the shower triggered a fire alarm. Shelter staff called 911 and claimed I was 'irrational' to force a psychiatric evaluation. I am not a danger to myself or others. I am fully oriented. I just started a new job with the Sanitation Department and I need to be discharged so I can report for my shift. NYC Administrative Code § 8-107(7) – The NYC Human Rights Law explicitly prohibits retaliation against anyone who opposed unlawful discriminatory practices or filed a complaint. As i was being interviewed at Psychiatric triage I could not stop looking at the nurses cataracts. We expect medical professionals to be paragons of health. When they show signs of physical decline, it can feel jarring or even hypocr

Our recent experience at this hospital began during a very emotional time — my mother had fallen and was taken in for trauma evaluation. Initially, things felt a little rocky for me because I was overwhelmed and unable to be by her side during the trauma phase. As a daughter, that was incredibly difficult. However, once that was addressed, everything shifted in the most reassuring way. The patient care was truly amazing. We never waited more than 20–30 minutes in any phase before someone checked on us. There was constant communication, and every step was explained clearly and patiently. The doctors used simple, understandable language so my mother fully understood what was happening and what her options were. They also provided next-level options for care, which gave us confidence and pea

The staff and doctors in the ER floor are extremely dismissive and disrespectful. They constantly yell at patients! I understand that nurses and doctors work stressful jobs but it is no excuse to yell at your patients. My partner came in after slipping and falling hard on their back, and not a single doctor or nurse asked any questions about their pain or where they fell, and continued to dismiss their concerns. The doctor and nurse were even talking badly about them for not being careful enough when falling!!! Awful bed side manner. We considered going to another hospital because it is that bad. Not to mention the space is extremely dirty and falling apart. My partner joked that they act like they are working at a late night Taco Bell.

My 90 year old grandma was plugged up to the monitor and it began beeping insanely and said “asystole”. Not ONE nurse or doctor even bothered to look over while her monitor was showing her flatlining. Thankfully it normalized and my grandma said she was feeling fine so I didn’t make a big deal of it. Then the monitor again started beeping crazy and said extreme Brady and again not one glance over. That’s not normal or ok- that’s negligence. Luckily my sister is a doctor who I was on the phone with at the time and she told me it was likely her wires being unclipped that caused the monitor to beep but I WOULDNT HAVE KNOWN THAT- nor is that a guaranteed reason. A 90 year old who already has low heart rate could very likely be bradycardic and nobody batted an eye. My grandma also needed a

Every time I go to the ultrasound office, the assistant provides terrible service and has a horrible attitude. There are proper ways to speak to people and give instructions. This time I arrived at 12:35 and she was on her lunch break. I understand she needs to take a break, but there are better ways to handle the situation. She should be removed from that area if she doesn't want to interact with people. And believe me, I'm not the only one who thinks this way. It's not just this one day; it's been the same on other visits. I arrive in a perfectly good mood, only for her to ruin it.
