Novant Health Urgent Care – Summerville (Formerly Doctors Care)

Horrible experience with Raymond today! As an African American woman of Trans experience I’m aware of the hatred from gay white men. But this was different. He kept repeating that he needs me to lay down while he draws my blood for his safety! His safety! And that it’s his “preference “ , which i guess means as long as he’s comfortable the patient doesn’t have to be. I’ve visited other locations but this one was by far the absolute worst! He then stuck me multiple times , nothing came out. Instead of requesting another tech come try he continually tried. The only good thing they have is the lady at the front desk.

Made an appointment today at 3:30pm for my daughter who obviously had the flu. Arrived early per automated text request. Waited for 2 hours and had to continue reminding them that we were there. Finally she was called back and given all the swabs and vitals and she started vomiting in the initial room for probably 5 minutes straight. They tried to give her a cavi wipe to wipe her hands and tried to refuse her the sink and soap(I obviously overruled -cavi wipes are not for skin especially kids). She had it all over her clothes and in her hair. We were quickly shooed into a room where she finally fell asleep because we then waited another hour for the doctor to even come in. No check-ins-no- how’s she doing?, does she need water?, an update on doctor/np eta. I understand a lot of places are

My experience was everything one could hope for when in extreme pain and in need of help. The front desk ladies were kind and helpful, the wait to be seen was less than 10 minutes. Doug was outstanding. Funny and a gentle giant. Dr. Alison was the epitome of what you expect one to be. Very thoughtful, heard what I said, and gave each answer thought before making suggestions on what we needed to do. She put us all at ease that we would have a positive outcome . AND WE DID.

The staff and doctor was nice. I was sick for 2 weeks. They decided to do an x-ray of my lungs. They said my lungs were clear. They didn't do any other tests on me at all and sent me home with no diagnosis of anything, but still gave me an antibiotic. I still don't know what I had, especially to warrant a prescription. However, I did give them an extra star because they called me the next day just to see how I was feeling, which I thought was very nice.

I was seen very quickly, the front staff was very nice and welcoming. The nurse Katie was very nice and thorough. Dr Nazon was very caring and listened to me, fully explained what was wrong and gave me some ways to resolve my pain without medication. Nurse Katie was very skilled and I never felt my injection at all. I highly recommend the Novant Health Urgent Care in Summerville!
