Novant Health Coastal Carolina Medical Center

In September 2025, I had a negative experience in the ER and left a bad review, which I have since deleted. Despite that experience, I decided to move forward with my scheduled surgrey on February 13, 2026, performed by Claude Tolbert. I was initially apprehensive about having the procedure at this location due to my prior experience, but I had full confidence in my doctor and chose to proceed. From the moment I checked in until I was discharged the following day, the staff and nurses were absolutely amazing. I received exceptional care throughout my stay. Saturday February 28th I ended up at Coastal hospital with a CHI (closed head injury). I must say my care was the best care I’ve ever received. I’ve been to many hospitals in many states. U of M among them and I have never had such great care as I did with Coastal. Thank you PA Jim, nurse Kylie and Jaelynn!! The CT scan staff working that night was also amazing! We brought our son to the ER to this newly named novant health hospital formerly known as Coastal Carolina Medical Centerl, I have been here before and the service has been amazing but this change is not improving but turning this hospital into a bad experience and I understand that any transition can cause delays but we arrived at 7pm it is now 9pm and we are still waiting while I have seen patients that came after us taken to be seen, I understand that people can be seen depending on the severity of their symptoms and conditions but some people called ahead of us were not as bad as my son is doing right now and came way after us (side note: almost everyone can hear when patients are been admitted so I happen to hear this person saying she was a nurse!) I would like to commend the staff at Novant Hospital for a job well done. My elderly mother has made several trips to the Emergency Department in the past few months. Each time, she has been treated well. The ED physician, Dr. Beydoun, attended to her on 12/19/25. He was kind and compassionate to her as well as being extremely thorough and knowledgeable. He is the type of physician that I would want to care for me in an emergent situation. I am a licensed and registered healthcare professional, so I tend to be more “opinionated” than most, especially when it comes to my mother’s care! I should've gone to Beaufort Memorial -- this place is ridiculous. Horrible experience with this place. I waited in the waiting area for hours, and then once placed in a room, I waited a lengthy period of time without seeing a nurse or doctor. After a long wait, NO ONE in the back ever came to get name, concerns, vitals, or any basic questions. I literally walked out after almost 4 hours of not being seen by a nurse or physician with the exception of going through the initial triage. What is the standard of care at Novant Health?
