New River Dental Center

Be careful before trusting their diagnosis. I started going to New River Dental after years of not seeing a dentist, hoping to take care of my teeth for good. During my first visit, they told me I had five cavities that needed to be filled — which I believed since it had been a while. I got them all filled. Only a few months later, I went back for a cleaning and they said I had five more cavities. That didn’t sound right, so I got a second opinion at Hughes Dental Group, where the staff was incredibly friendly and honest. They checked carefully and told me I only needed one filling and maybe a future crown — not five new cavities. My experiences at New River Dental always felt uncomfortable. My experience in 2020 was the WORST dental experience of my entire life. I went in for a root canal and a crown, which I’ve done at several other dental offices before. The dentist said I had a “hot tooth,” and That she could do nothing for my pain. I felt my entire root canal the whole time and the dentist did nothing to try to remedy the situation. She just watched me cry while she pushed me to continue to work on my tooth. The experience was traumatizing, and it took several years and a few very great dentist to get me comfortable with people working on my teeth again. My whole experience felt extremely unprofessional and unempathetic. Please go somewhere else to get your teeth worked on.

The nature of my visit was serious and I was scared out of my mind. Dr. Guess was reassuring, helped to calm my nerves, and followed up with me quickly to see how I was managing my procedure at home. I highly recommend her office.

Went in for 3 fillings and a tooth extraction. If I could sue for malpractice I would. Fillings went fine until the drill flew out of her hand still spinning and cut the hell out of my lip. Think she said “whoops!”. Picture will be attached of that. The tooth extraction was SUPER painful as the local anesthesia had already basically worn off. I’m damn near screaming with this huge mouth piece in my mouth and she told me to “take deep breaths” . UM NO, give me another shot! LIKE WHAT! I already don’t like dentists and will not be going back here. If you want extra cuts and pain, please go here! If not, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Very unprofessional staff. We went back and forth with a bill that was not even mine. This dental office does not have their bookkeeping together and will make any attempt to strong arm you to pay a bill that's not yours.
