Nova Southwestern University Dental Clinic

Was quickly seen at the urgent care clinic and my treatments options were thoroughly explained to me. Two dental students made sure to accompany me to the OR as I was nervous. They stayed by my side the entire time and were absolutely amazing. The oral surgeon removed my tooth painlessly in less than an hour. The entire staff was wonderful and extremely helpful. Additionally, the dental care was substantially cheaper than anywhere else.

So far I have terrible impression of the dental clinic at Nova Southeastern. I've called four times, left a message, left a message at someone at the main line to have someone email me instead of calling me back since I too am in and out of meetings. I got a call back and return the call and nobody answers the phone. Actually, the phone system puts you on hold for a minute's at a time before it tells you no one's here to take your call. This is a total waste of time and it doesn't make me feel like I want to take my child to this venue. Really really unimpressed, as I was with the one doctor I met in the cranial facial clinic. Stay away! Took months to wait for an appointment, then took months to get an appointment because they didn't actually book me. I wasted so much time just waiting. Finally after 4 months of waiting for an appointment, I was then seen and made to feel like a guinea pig. I spent sooo much money and went through NUMEROUS exams and imaging and all types of cleaning before they even addressed any issues. After months of exams, the student Michele went to do a small filling HER FIRST ONE and completely BOTCHED my tooth. I never had issues in that tooth and now couldn't eat on that side of my mouth. Saw her 3 times to refill the SAME TOOTH and there was no solution. No one knew how to fix the issue. They put me with another student Jenny Kim and she didn't even know how to use the machines. I'm a Veteran. They get a grant from the V.A. to give free dental care to Veterans. I signed up in April. It's now mid-October and the progress I've made so far is 1/2 a deep cleaning. Meanwhile, on Nextdoor, I've seen at least 10 different students looking for Veteran patients. I wonder if the goal is to have the Veterans drop out but keep the grant and focus on regular cash-paying patients?

Rescheduled my appointment without telling me for their christmas party so I missed it. I drove an hour and a half over here to be told I had to go home. Super unprofessional and a waste of my time in addition to being inconsiderate. Not even a call for a reminder on the day of the supposed appointment. Communication is not a strong suit of this clinic.
