Norwich Springs Health Campus

If you care about your loved ones, do NOT have them stay at Norwich Springs because their staff does not care about your or them. This facility is grossly under staffed & the people who do work there are lazy, apathetic & ignorant. The staffing ratio there is typically 1 nurse & 1 aide per 30 residents. During the 3 weeks my mom was confined there, I had to request pain medication many times. Although my mom was in pain, it typically took 30-60 minutes & several complaints before a nurse would interrupt his/her personal life to bother giving her any attention. Specifically I asked (nicely) nurses Abby & Emma on several occasions for assistance but they could have cared less. The nurses aides were not much better. All-hands-on-patientcare at Norwich worked for us. We do not want to go to hospital or rehab again; but if we must we choose Norwich Springs. Here is why: Dr. Miller ordered medications on target giving us choices; Nurse Practitioner Nicki in her gentle-intense attention gave us all the time we needed every week before writing her orders with our participation; Director RN Lora enhanced her reputation with us (as the wound care expert in Columbus) every time she entered our room, examined the wound, did the dressing herself; fixed the noise in air mattress or walked out with items like lunch tray or the big trash can. So did the other officials. One time I wondered about the healing of my wound, Practitioner Nicki said, “I will be here the next time they change your dressing.” She came

My husband Paul attends Friday adult daycare and has also stayed overnight for five consecutive days and nights at Norwich Springs Campus in Hilliard, Ohio. He really enjoys Michelle K as his “happy place” person. She is so enthusiastic and passionate about her job and cares so much for the very special adult seniors in her care. She goes so much out of her way to make sure everyone is enjoying the activities she has planned whether it’s an activity on Campus or a mini field trip event. Michelle sends me photos when my husband stays long term and they make my day. I know he’s being cared for with so much love and I can enjoy my time without worrying about him. She is such a Great asset to Norwich Springs Campus in Hilliard. She is definitely a 10 star rating !!! Thanks Michelle K.

Aside from a fall that was never reported and resulted in a knot in the forehead, this was a decent experience after the first hospital visit. We chose to go back after a second hospital stay because of some of the nurses and therapists that took good care of our mom. However, the second stay was the exact opposite. Lack of competent nurses and administrative staff. Lack of communication between staff, nurses, therapists, and family. If you’d like your loved one to sleep in soiled bedsheets, or learn that there would be a $200 co pay the next day, this is the place for you. Administration completely incompetent to handle questioning family who demand answers.

Our family member was sent to Norwich Springs following a hospital stay, and so far our experience here has been HORRIBLE. While visiting her the first night, she had an accident. It took flagging down three people and 30 minutes for someone to come in and change her bedding. And their idea of "changing her bedding" is to pick up the very soggy, soiled linens, wipe the urine off the mattress with a dry towel, and put new sheets on before the bed was even dry. There was no disinfecting the mattress. When I tried to talk to the staff about her incontinence issues, I was cut off saying it's her first night and they would learn about her in their own time. We also told the staff that he room has ants, and the employee said she knew that but now she's going to have to report it because we said
