I visited for a basic x-ray and cleaning check-up. Using a pen sized device thought to be an intraoral laser scanner, a device my new dentist considers dubious technology, Dr. Scharf declared I did not have a cavity but needed a drill and fill on a wisdom tooth. I trusted his medical advice, work was done and I paid an additional few hundred bucks. Three weeks later the "filling" was broken off and a significant section of the opposite tooth was also broken off. Dr. Scharf offered a repair drill and fill for no charge. One and half years later the "filling" broke off again. Never returning to Northwoods, I took this problem to another dentist who told me this surface filling will never be reliably filled. I have been coming to Northwoods Dental for years and don’t plan on stopping! The small family feel is a bonus to the wonderful care you are given. From the front desk, to the hygienists, to the doctors, and the office staff. I have never had someone not great me with a smile. They truly take their time with the cleanings and always make me feel important and not like my service is being rushed through. I trust that if they tell me extra work needs to be done, that it is true and not just being pushed on me. Will continue to come here for many, many more years!
