Northwestern Medicine Student Health Center at NIU

Quite literally some of the worst treatment I have ever received, I had to wait a ridiculous amount of time every time the nurse or doctor left the room. The care was also poor with the doctor recommending nothing but rest for a month long illness I had. She was also extremely unprofessional with me and reached under my clothes without notifying me, as well as not listening to what I had to say, she was asking me questions I had answered immediately before and was dismissive of my symptoms.She also emailed my school without notifying me and tried to get me held out of sports when I felt comfortable and healthy enough to participate. Terrible experience, if you have the option do not go here.

If I can give less than a zero I would. I went in there for an appointment and she told me that I have to reschedule after waiting for a whole month, just because I was supposed to get there 15-20 min earlier which I was not notified! Plus April who was the lady sitting up front is EXTERMELY RUDE! While the nurse called me in April told the nurse NOT to let me go inside. I don't think they understand that we are college students and don't have time for their nonsense! Very unprofessional and every time I went there, April had an attitude and I believe it should be fixed. NIU should do better!

amanda is always very nice and respectful. She really cares about the patients. I had emily draw my blood and she was very sweet! So friendly and offered me water & snacks! These 2 make me want to come back

Never going here again.If I could give zero stars I would. Doctor was awful bedside manner was awful as well. Other staff is nice. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! Go somewhere where the doctor will take your symptoms into account. They only do things based on the data here. Basically if the data doesn't show what you're experiencing they will not give you the medication you need. Doctor did not belive I had a UTI infection even with my past medical history taken into account. Didn't care I had a UTI that resulted in a kidney infection before. Thank God for my doctors at home who got me the medicine I needed to feel better. Go to 2496 Dekalb Ave, Sycamore, IL 60178 if you need a place to go. DO NOT COME HERE. I went there for something unrelated to covid, but all they did is force a covid test on me, even though I knew I did not have it. I had to go to a different doctor, who correctly diagnosed me instead. The nurse and doctor were completely rude, and obviously did not care about their patients. The nurse even tried to convince me not to get another test done out of pure laziness. All they do is blame covid then kick you out. They do not care about actually treating their patients. Absolutely awful!
