North Florida OB/GYN of Jacksonville

I have been a patient of this office since I moved to the Jacksonville area and have only had negative experiences and finally have decided to share. It is apparent after many appointments that this office strictly cares about money and not the patient. I have had many appointments where I was supposed to receive an exam and once at the appointment told some excuse to have to schedule a second appointment, which makes zero sense and leads me to assume that it must come down to the fact that a second appointment means a second bill to the insurance. During my 3 years as a patient, I recently changed insurance. When making my appointment over the phone I provided my new insurance information and was told it was fine. Went here for my entire pregnancy and most of the staff were extremely friendly, Covid cautious, etc. However I will not go back for my second pregnancy one staff in particular I think she was a nurse practitioner constantly referred to my husband as “baby daddy” every pregnancy appointment and insinuated on multiple occasions that my son was an accident (which doesn’t matter) but I planned my pregnancy with my husband yet it was assumed I was an unwed mother having an unplanned pregnancy either because I am young, black or both. At my 6 week checkup she even suggested I get an IUD because I “clearly don’t remember to take my birth control,” I was too in shock to even respond. I was given their information as a referral by my primary care. I contacted them and they advised that there were scheduling appointments starting in December (I called in October). I stammered and asked if they had a waiting or cancelation list. I was rudely advised by the receptionist who answered the phone that they have "way too many doctors and way too many regular patients" to do something like that; she then advised that I could call everyday to see if they had a cancellation, but them having a cancellation list, "we just don't have the time to do something like that, no," I was sternly advised. Then when I called back to speak to the officer manager, the first receptionist put me on hold and a few minutes later, another receptionist got on the phone and asked how she could help and

I don't think they deserve the bad wrap they get on reviews. The reviews made me leery but I found the office very accommodating and willing to work around my schedule with little notice. Friendly staff, caring PA... clean and maintaining COVID precautions. What more can you ask for?
