Norfolk Childrens Dental Clinic

I like the Dr here and the dental hygienist gals are very nice, my kids enjoy coming here. But the receptions or “ office manager” just ruins it with her attitude over the phone and in person with her tongue clicks and “ Nah “ to everything. She has an attitude like she’s better than everyone else, it’s a poor image for the clinic.

I called into this office because my son has anxiety about his teeth. I was told they had laughing gas and it would help. He has been to this office now 4 times i believe. Dr always seems in a hurry. Doesnt listen to my son when he says stop. Talks down to him. Hygenist rambles about random stuff and stands and chats with others. Today, after what should have happened a year ago, my son got six teeth pulled. We had the latest appt because we drive from Wayne to Norfolk. Reception always looks confused and they dont talk loudly enough to hear over the music coming out of the speaker right next to window. Was taken back to a room. No chair for me to sit in. Small room a little clausterphobic. Hygenist and dentist both talked at same time, didnt listen to me state out loud that my son will be

Let me start by saying that the dental staff it's self it wonderful Gina Waite the dentist is great. However, you must have a stomach of iron to deal with the front desk staff. The " office Manager" is rude and does not listen. I have always taken my children here and today I will not longer take my children to this dentist. I will not be treated badly by the people of the front desk who set the tone for the visit.

My child who was 6 at time told me that he was scared to go because they smacked him when he closed his mouth one time. Then when we went back and I told the receptionist that I wanted to go to the back with him because of what my child told me they smirked and told me that was a lie. Of course I’m not one to back down I ended up going to the back. My child did cry and had bad anxiety. But this is a children’s dental clinic and they should be trained to deal with this. The only one I saw that was good was the actual Doctor. She was great and calmed my child down.

They are just awful! The office manager is rude to us and and the kids. Long wait lists and they made my 2 year old daughter wait a month and a half to be seen, and she had a tooth that was busted in half from falling down. They absolutely wouldn't even try to bump us up at all. I'm not the first person who has had complaints about their policies. And they still won't work on a tooth on the first visit. Then you have to wait another month to two months to have work done on a tooth that's already been bothering them prior to the month to two months they made you wait just to have it looked at. They are only in the business for the money, NOT for the compassion of children!
